December 15, 2017
South Huron Recreation Centre
Pregame ceremony prior to puck drop at 8:00 pm

Ron Bogart arrived in Exeter the summer of 1959 after a Hall of Fame football career at University of Guelph. Ron began teaching at South Huron District High School and retired in 1992 after 33 years. Ron was heavily involved in local sports. He coached football for the SHDHS Panthers for many years winning Huron Perth Championships in 1967, 68, 1976, 1980, 86, 87, 88 and 89. Of course Ron was very heavily involved with the Exeter Hawks coming in mid-way through the 1976-77 season to coach them to an OHA title. He also coached them in the 1977-78 season but came up short of winning back to back championships losing in a tough game 7 OHA final.  He continued to coach the club until 1982. He was called back mid-way through the 1985-86 season to help finish out the season. Ron was a huge part of the Hawks 50th Anniversary which was celebrated in 2010. Ron spent countless hours digging up history on the club and contacting alumni members.  The Hawks 50th Anniversary was a huge success and will never be forgotten by any alumni members. Ron’s love of sports continued after his coaching days, and he could be seen at many local sporting events with his hat on backwards taking pictures. Please come and join The Exeter Hawks at our home game on December 15th vs Lambeth at 8:00 pm to honour Ron Bogart with a very special pregame ceremony.
